Gotcha Day!!!

So as far as meeting Charlotte at the Civil Affairs office this afternoon things went fine. I was not a ball of tears as I thought, Matt however did shed some tears :) The first three hours went very smooth with Lottie. However she came to us with a cold and a upset stomach. She was running a little bit of a fever. We gave her Tylenol. She decided to fill her diaper up when we only had her for less than 5 min. in our arms!! :)  So I had to change her first diaper right off the bat!! I think she is definitely a Koverman!!

After the first three hours she started to whine and whimper. She was okay going to Matt in the beginning however now she is scared of him and always keeping watch for where he is.  We had a hard time getting her to sleep. She fell asleep on my chest for a little bit but woke up even more upset than she was before. Finally we put her in the crib. She was holding on the sides for dear life! I think she did not want us to take her out of it. But she would cry if I left the room. She took a bottle and now she is fast asleep. Please pray that we all get a good first nights rest. We have to go to the Civil Affairs office early in the morning to say that Yes we want to adopt her.

So here are some pics of our first day together as a family !!! Enjoy and more tomorrow.

  1. HOORAY! Congratulations, Ma Ma and Ba Ba! She's beautiful and you guys look so happy!

We're praying that God give Lottie's baby heart some peace and the she learns quickly it's ok to trust you guys!

If you think she needs to go to the doctor, there's a Western doctor at the Garden Hotel. Ask your guide and she can take you guys there. Parker got lots of meds there and his lungs were clear when we took him to the doctor once we got home. I hope she feels better soon.

Looking forward to your next post!
