Its a Girl
So yes its true! We have been matched with a little 15 month old girl from Nanchang China. We are hoping to travel by Thanksgiving. We are waiting on the official letter of acceptance from China. Basically they have to look over all our paperwork to officially approve us to adopt. We received pre-approval on June 24th and this day starts the count down to receive LOA (Letter of Acceptance) from China. I am hearing that we could wait anywhere from 30-90 days for this. After we receive LOA we should travel in about 2 months. I am sure your next big question is what we are going to name her. Well we are keeping that all a secret until we meet her in China. Sorry!
We do have some conditioned prayer request. Please pray for her safe keeping and well being. And for us to brace the long wait knowing that our baby is in China. This is one of the hardest parts of adoption. She is in foster care and from her size charts, she seems to be healthy.
We have been asked many times why we chose the path of adoption over birth children. All I can say is that this path has been placed in our hearts. I love this experience. I can't describe the feeling you get when you get to see your child's photo for the first time, the building up of love in your heart that grows while you wait for your child. And nothing tops the day that you get to meet your child for the first time. We are so grateful to God that he put this path to adding to our family in our hearts.
Lottie recently was asking about her cousin being in her mommy's belly, and Lottie asked if she grew in my belly. I responded with " no sweetie you grew in my heart". Its the best answer I can give to her at the moment and yes little Lottie smiles and is very satisfied with that answer :) And now my heart is filled with growing love for the next child. We will share photos when our agency says it is appropriate. Take care and many blessings to you all.
