Lottie has a new eye!!!

Sorry but no new videos yet. I have tons but still can't upload from home thanks to my wonderful slow watch tv connection. So I have to wait till I get to mom and dads this weekend or next week. Next week is my last week staying at home with Lottie. Can't believe I have been off for 10 weeks!!! Wow that time has flownby. I am ready for a schedule and adult time, but I am going to miss her sooooo much!!

So we went to see Lottie's Ocularist on Monday and we put in her first clear lens to prepare for her prosthetic eye. This is just opening up the eye and it magnifies it so it looks bigger than the eye actually is. We will go and get another clear lens on March 4th. Then two weeks later she will get her prosthetic eye. I also went against the Opthamologist and went and got glasses anyways. She will get them in a few days. We will see how it goes with keeping them on her face!!! :)  I really want her wearing them outside more than anything. With all the stuff Baba (Daddy) does with her!!! I want to protect the good eye.

We also went to her pediatrician today and all is well. She has to go back and get the rest of her immunizations next week hopefully. The pediatrician held her a lot today. Which I really did not like, but thought it was important for her to get a good relationship with her. Well once home it showed through. She reverted back to some past orphanage behaviors, she would not let me rock her to sleep, and even screamed when I held her. So it is obvious she still is not ready to be held by others and still figuring out what a mommy and daddy do. I can tell she is confused like she wants to be held....but it just doesn't feel right. Poor thing. Also last week I caught her at the Wal-Mart glasses store clinging onto the leg of a complete stranger, who was a very pretty young 16 year old stranger. I am sure it reminder her of her nannies, but broke my heart. This is the hardest part to the adoption world, but we are working through it. I just can't wait for the day we are in a room full of strangers and she clings to me for dear life!!!! Has anyone ever wished such a thing from their child!!! ???? lol  More videos in a few days . Enjoy the pics.

  1. I think her small eye is like Acer's, that there is a fair bit of eyelid, so they match pretty easily.
Check out the Rec Spec's that Acer wears. They have a strap that goes around the back. They're also sturdy enough to take a basketball to the face without breaking.
When going to the Dr's Have the Dr's/Nurses only hold for the painful parts and you all the rest. That's the best bet.
Good work on your bonding so far, Keep it up my friend!

  2. Her eye looks good so far!

It took B a couple of months before she stopped wanting to go with other people. I know it just breaks your heart for them because they are so confused, but she will finally get it!
